Your pod pilot passes out during stargate jumps. Hence the sensation of instant travel (though it is near instant). Anyway, the stargate setup is simply (other than lore) to make the single universe possible.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but.... There is a bug/feature that now if you preselect your weapons before the lock is established, they do not actually activate. Happens with scanners and salvagers too.

Unless it was made well and loaded as fast as the pre-Incarna hanger, I won't use it. I dock/undock a lot, and the 20 seconds loading time is really a killer on my productivity.
